Abortion and Stem cell research have been mistakenly confused as going hand in hand therefore have caused many to feel this type of  research to be just as bad as abortion. Yes, it is true that stem cell research does derive from miscarriages as well as abortions but people use that double standard on how researching on an embryo is so immoral yet they don’t realize that researchers don’t “abort” these babies but their own mothers do. Their own mothers knowingly give the consent to stop a beating heart because that’s exactly what an abortion does. I understand when people consider abortions due to rape or incest but even then that doesn’t give anyone the right to take a life away. No one asks to be born and no one should have the right to decide whether you live or die.
Some find it beneficial for people to have abortions, not in the sense of getting rid of the unwanted but to find a cure. Those who are pro abortion tend to back their abortion choice by saying it helps with the research to find a cure for a better tomorrow. Indeed, we find that abortions are used for the research but so are fetuses that die of natural causes. A deceased fetus is a very common source of stem cell and you don’t really hear anything about how that’s misusing a human body. In a way its seen as recycling. Don’t get me wrong  I don’t mean to compare a dead fetus to a soda can or water bottle. I’m simply trying to make the connection of it being used for something other than its original purpose to keep it from going to waste. Dead fetuses as well as aborted fetuses are often dumped into plastic bags for disposal or used for research. Using these DEAD fetuses is like donating your tissue and organs to give hope to others. I feel things happen for a reason and everyone has a purpose. Probably, the purpose of the fetus who dies of natural causes is seen greater dead than alive. They can probably hold the cure for cancer or even AIDS.
Abortion is a very controversial topic that has blind folded those who don’t know much about stem cell research, due to their focus on how these scientists use aborted babies and are playing God they don’t see the reality of it all. Who is the real culprit? The one who knowingly stops their own child’s beating heart or the one who uses that unwanted child and gives it a new meaning by trying to find a cure to cancer and other diseases.
Don’t justify your choice for murder on how its beneficial due to stem cell research because you could be killing the future doctor who discovers the cure humanity has been urging for.
