Lenore: The Cute Little Dead Girl! :)

Lenore was written by Roman Dirge and he was inspired by the Edgar Allen Poe Poem entitled, Lenore. Lenore had guest starred in several on Roman Dirge’s comics until she got her own series published.

The story is set in a little town called Nevermore (another Edgar Allen Poe reference; The Raven). Lenore lives in a mansion and it’s surrounded by wild plants and bushes. The central genre of Lenore is dark humor. Dirge reinvented  children’s songs and nursery rhymes and put a very dark twist on it. He also turns cultural idols into dark comedy topics. For instance, Lenore “accidentally kills” the Easter Bunny.

Even though Lenore’s actions cause injury or death to the other characters around her, she’s not a bad person and actually thinks she’s doing good deeds.

There are also 26 shows produced by Sony.

The first short is entitled The New Toy. Lenore accidentally kills some hamsters in a pet store while searching for a squeeze toy. Enjoy! :)

wow… that was a really interesting review topic! I have never heard or seen this character before but I can see why they picked her and the theme. Your reference to nursery rhymes made me stop and think, I have always felt they are morbid anyway and most tell of death, danger and destruction!
Well done Blaze for sharing this interesting work.

I agree, this is very interesting and I like a lot of Edgar Allan Poe’s work. Thanks for a reminding us about Lenora’s antics and giving us a more detailed insight into this character. Well, done!
