Talking about snow in 1976 and comparing to the present.

I have lived in snow for ten years of my life.  I knew it wasn’t the atmosphere I desired to spend the rest of my life in.  My family moved to Florida.  I did not like it here in this region until three years later.  I begin to enjoy living in Florida.  It was hot in temperature most of the year, especially in the months of August and September.  I began to get accustomed to this climate.  I love the fact that Florida possess many, beautiful bodies of water.

The year of 1976, I was in my second year of college.  The day that it snowed was very exciting for people in Tampa.  I had went to class.  All of a sudden, there were students shouting it was snowing!  Everyone in the building ran outside.  It was so calm!  People were amazed at the snow.  I hadn’t seen snow in about a decade.  Therefore, it was explosive for me also.  I glazed for about twenty minutes.  The snow disappeared after that day.

There has been no talk of snow in Tampa until now, today, January 9, 2010.  That has been over twenty years since it snowed in 1976.  The occasion would be thrilling, especially for the children (and maybe adults) who have not seen snow.  My grands ask me if they can make a snowman.  My reply was it is not going to be enough snow for that.  It will probably be more like a drizzle, where the snow melts when it touches the ground.

The occasion would be a memorable day in Tampa, Florida.  We will see what the future holds!
