A “think piece” listing the folks I’ve encountered during my existence whom I really and truly care about.
These days (and many nights) I’ve been spending considerable amounts of time embroiled in individual combat sessions with my two leading fantasy lovers (Hints: One is one of the longtime film/TV heartthrob Lorenzo Lamas’s former wives; the other was, during the late 1980s, a regular on one of CBS’s most popular daytime soaps). Whenever I imagine myself in steamy sessions with either of them, it is one of the two times when I’m absolutely on top of my schizophrenia-fueled neuroses, the other being when I’m engaged in self-talk sessions. Indeed, if I was genuinely involved with one, or both, of these girls, I would bestow upon her, or them, so much attention and so much affection, and do everything I possibly could to please and satisfy her, or them, and to ensure that she, or they, was, or were, consistently happy. Which has led me to ask myself: Which folks have I encountered during my existence whom I really and truly care about? Which folks have I met throughout my life whom I cherish, without condition, without hesitation, without qualification?
I considered it, scratched my head a lot, and at last came up with four. In order of depth of caring, they are (the names have been changed out of respect for the subjects’ privacy):
.Keely Maddox, my third CEO (Competitive Employment Opportunites) job coach–To this day, I have fond, fond memories of that girl. She was bubbly, vivacious, gorgeous, charming, sexy, and fun. It warms me greatly when I think back upon her lush brownette hair; her clear, sparkling eyes; her smooth alabaster skin; her pert, spunky nose; her warm, flush cheeks; and her rich, soft (and intensely kissable) lips. We would laugh often and fulsomely during her visits, and I would always, always be sorry when it was time for her to leave. She would always tell me the most gracious and complimentary things (”Whenever you see a movie, you always talk about how sexy and hot the leading lady is. I just think it’s so funny.” “I really enjoy coming here to chat with you.” Me: “Will [another former CEO job coach and somebody else who's upon my list of most unconditionally cherished folks; I'll get to him later] told me that you told him that you enjoy coming here to talk to me.” Keely, her face brightening greatly: “I do!”). Truly, had we met under different circumstances–and had I not been burdened by my schizophrenia–we just may have wound up being, as they say, an item. I still harbor a fierce hope that we’ll meet again one day. She’s honestly one of the very brightest lights concerning my association with CEO;
