A flower is a beautiful, delicate, fragile living thing. Although this may be so, it plays an important part in the reproduction of the plant. They create their own beautiful romantic fashion parade, and are used as gifts of endearment to those we care about. They play significant roles at weddings, Valentine, Easter, church decorations, as a token of thanks and appreciation, get well gifts, and sadly, to say farewell to the deceased.

Flower petals are fragrant, fragile, soft and velvety and very beautiful. Even the scripture says that King Solomon was not “arrayed“ as one of them. They are so smooth and fragrant, that one can rub hem against the skin and enjoy their silky touch.

Flowers bloom or open up. When they remain healthy, they are said to be flourishing. Flowers remain in full bloom from early Spring until early Fall, depending on their species. Hedges and ground runners usually have flowers “dotted” between them. Gasses with various colors of wild flowers among them, paint a pretty sight.

Because of their sweet fragrances, some flowers are used and processed by manufacturers to make colognes, perfumes, hair conditioners and shampoos, soaps and bath gels. Some bath salts are also made with various flower fragrances. Each flower has a distinct smell. Manufacturers have studied them carefully and know when is the right tie to pick for processing. Some flowers like the jasmine, have to be picked at night in order to preserve their freshness.

Flowering denotes production. I can say that my garden is in full bloom, when all of my vegetables are sprouting, and that my business is flourishing, whether it be a farm, a clothing factory or other, if it generates good income.
