Some things to ponder about.

The pigeon managed to hold its head up high finding its meal for the day. . . It thrived skipping through man-made buildings and always finds shelter to spend the night wherever the sun sets.

A plant coped up to push its way through concrete. . . An extraordinary force of nature showing how amazing and wonderful life is. Amazing in that where intentionally cultivated in a suitable piece of land, it would wither out.

A squirrel could thrive each day finding nuts along the branches. . . Although trees may get all cut out in the forest just to suit human needs for toothpicks and corks for covering wine bottles, it doesn’t go nuts thinking of the consequence.

A human being could easily give up on the way. Despite being superior in terms of intelligence and reasoning, despite his science and politics and despite his knowledge of morality and religion.

If God created all creatures, big and small, plants and animals, and provide for them just the same, do we have a better choice? Have we used up our freedom of making wise decisions in destroying Mother Nature to to find our life’s purpose and end up to be the one’s squatting in this planet?

Well, sir, you sliced it up nicely. The birds and the squirrels hurt nothing…only the nuts. Nice job.

This is very true. I hope many will read it. You give us, my friend, each day such good work. I’m impressed. It’s good to be your friend, thank you!

We are indeed just tenants on this planet, and we need to really look at how we treat our residence. We shall all be kicked-out one day if we’re not careful!

lol…Ken’s comment made me laugh. This beautiful Earth doesn’t belong to us – it was never ours to begin with. Frankly, we should have been kicked off long ago, considering how we treat it. Another thought-provoking piece, Will.

Very thought provoking and questioning write.Very true about how things adapt but will we as humans be able to manage it when we have raped the earth of all its precious life forms and what will we adapt to if there is nothing left. Your work always gets me thinking Will! Excellent stuff!

    Hi Will,

I am just a visitor. I stumbled upon your home today. A plant coped up to push its way through concrete….

Well, for the past one week I have been watching a plant grown on the wall. I was wondering. Today I saw many plants making its head shown through concrete walls. When I looked at those plants, they seem to be green and bright. I was thinking deeply on those plants. After reading your article, its understood. If these creatures are valuable for God, how much more God’s own image, Us are precious before Him. Excellent thought.

I see what you mean. Well that’s the irony of life. Good post, kabayan.

  • lillyrose on Oct 16, 2009

Mmmm, you sure are right. We humans just take it all, then kick it on its ass. I always wanted to be an animal they are much nicer than most people. Lovely to read your thoughts x

I agree with Lady Sunshine! This Earth belongs to Mother Nature Father Time and God. We are just visitors here as long as ourlife line lets us be and we all should appreciate it to it’s fullest because our string could be clipped at any time.

From Your article Confessions of a Time Traveler: “You are a time traveler. We are one.” That sort of lays the foundation for The Ironic Slice of Life, especially in the last photo. In your Bio you claim you are not a writer; I beg to differ kind sir. You most certainly are a writer and a gifted one at that. Only a gifted writer at heart could come up with “Remember life is empty without a glitch..”. And then proceed to title such article “The Gift”. You do see beyond the veil, I am happy to make your acquaintance.

I do read many articles from other Triond authors, but I’m not one for making comments on articles, since I refuse to comment unless I have spent enough time getting to know the author as well as the article. In truth, many of the writers on Triond are unknowable since their articles rarely reflect their heart’s desire, but rather the desire to simply hack out as much verbiage as possible. I understand the chase for “views” but that chase can be done by writing from the heart as well as writing from the treadmill. And you do write from the heart.
