Could We Gain So Much Out of A Few Chances?

Being a lottery fanatic my only consolation is that everything are just numbers. Now you couldn’t imagine the odds if they have combined letters in it. Starting 07 November  2009 the usual £ 1.50 per line bet on Euromillions in UK lottery has increased to £2 with a promised increase in jackpot and the assured £1 million for additional draw to Euromillions players who didn’t made it to the  jackpot.  Way  back  in  the  Philippines, you  will  get  all  the  chances  there  because the lottery draw is everyday (6/42 – Tuesdays/Saturdays,6/45 – Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays,  6/49-Thursdays/Sundays) , unless of course you have no money to place a bet. Here in the UK you still have sometime to think of good number combinations to bet on since lottery is played only 3 times a week (lotto 6/49-Weds/Saturdays and Euromillions-Fridays). For me that is enough for a chance of a better life than doing the same thing all over again in my day at work (which becomes boring). Of course nobody will pay you out there for doing what you like to do but you must do what the company tells you what to do in order to get paid. Driving yourself to finish that task despite the boredom becomes the challenge of course. In the end you will think that you’re getting paid for that state of boredom and not the work. So comes the lottery, the only way to get out of both states; work and boredom. What better choices does a human being have for a better life in relying to work alone? In work you will be assured to get paid and such takes care of your basic needs. I suppose, that’s everything to it until you reach your last breath. But come to think about the difference of not just waiting for your time to come but for something better to arrive if chance permits. So there’s a lot to lottery. It of course depends how you think of it.

That is very well said, once again! Bravo Will. There would be so much to say…winning the lottery would prevent us from working hard! (lol).

Good one. A few years back, just as I was beginning to feel lucky, our state lottery added six numbers to the Lotto, thus increasing the odds beyond my lucky feeling.

A person can’t win if they don’t play. It is a gamble. Please tell me if you win big. I have never known a bid winner. Neat thoughts put here for reading.

Sounds like an interesting lottery system. You have to be in it to win it.

I have played a few times but I always end up feeling very disappointed!

With the odds being what they are, I gave up playing years ago. You have to kind of have “money to burn” to keep playing week after week.

It depends on your luck to get a big win. Afterall, it’s a gambling, you lose more than you win.

  • Brenda Nelson on Nov 19, 2009

You will win!! I know this because my husband and I play the Canadian lottery, and I also know we will win!

I enjoyed this piece so much. I do the Saturday lottery with a friend and we had five numbers up one week and won what to us at that time seemed a fortune. It certainly paid for all the lottery money we had paid out. I am sure your turn will come.
