Love is so precious in our life we all know, but it has lost its warmth these days.

I have a simple habit of reading my newspaper on the toilet seat every morning. I get inspiration, I get motivated, and so many times I feel frustrated and sad for foolish and some sad news.

My eyes got stuck on a particular news item that took away my morning freshness as I was reading as usual, 4 days before.  The news says that, a 9 year old girl was repeatedly being raped for two years by her father. And both the grand parents helped her to file an FIR against her father, their own son.  I was so angry and sad reading this news. I was just thinking how this can happen! It was disturbing me in my subconscious that whole day. I could not accept the fact that even a father can rape his own daughter, ‘a 9 year old daughter’! At that time I remembered this verse from the Bible which says, ‘in the last days, the love of most will grow cold’ in Matthew 24, when Jesus was talking about His second coming. I was alarmed; that day has already arrived! Then I was thinking that the situation may be worse than this incident in coming future. A chilling sensation ran through my spines.

The saddened incident was not even two days old I saw another headline in the newspaper and started reading it. It was about a robbery at the house of a businessman. The businessman and his family set out to go somewhere, at that time his daughter went back to the house telling that she wants her bag and went inside. Then inside the house she opened the secret chest and stole lakhs of rupees and jewelry and came back with her bag to join the family. When they came back and found that their valuables and money were stolen they informed the police and filed an FIR. Later on the police caught the daughter and declared her the thief and took her to police station. But the father was so troubled for his daughter that he wanted to withdraw the case but lawfully he could not do that. But later the police discovered that the daughter was below 18 years old and they allowed her father to take her home. On asking she confessed that she did all this to marry her boy friend. What a funny news item! But it reminded me of the same verse again, ‘in the last days, the love of most will grow cold’. Here the victim was the parents, just opposite to the previous story.

The only assurance for us is there will be people also like the grand parents in the first story and a father in the second story, who have shown their love for their dear ones.

But remember this, ‘in the last days, the love of most will grow cold’.
