It is indeed legal in all 50 states to use a hidden spy camera. What’s your take on the moral issue of using these devices? They can be used for good or evil and just like any technology it’s all in how you use it.

The gang of unruly neighborhood punks that you just know are the one’s breaking into cars at night:  It’s just a matter of time before you are their next victim! Catch them in the act with a motion activated night vision camera and final prove to the police that they are indeed the culprits.  Spy Cameras and Digital Video Recorders are now so commonplace you can pick one up at large department stores!   Let’s include adultery a as caveat to personal safety.  Those who suspect infidelity often gravitate to hidden cameras to catch a cheating spouse.

The original intent or purpose of video cameras and recording systems was security.  Video footage either monitored live by security personnel or recorded and reviewed later to protect persons or property.  Hidden cameras aren’t the star of the show in this instance but there are quickly rising up in the ranks.  Legally for security purposes, all a business or homeowner needs is a sign that states that these premises are protected by video surveillance.  You don’t need to say where or when or inside what.   When the presence of a video camera is concealed and we don’t know of its existence the truth always comes out.

There are many laws at many levels of government that are in place to protect us from the misuse of video spy cameras.  There are agencies that dictate who can or cannot have certain types of equipment.  Spy camera and spy equipment technology has become common place feeding the frenzy of the paranoid, perverted, insecure and unsafe.  Entwined in moral fiber this, like any other technological wonder is subject for concern as to how you use it.
