A true story of my life’s experiences when beggars who cash in on people’s sympathy become a menace to society as the New Generation of Beggars.

My alarm clock awakens me at seven a.m. and I arise from my bed, ready for another day of completing my work. I get up and start my daily routine of my life’s applications and then proceed to the kitchen to eat something to help my brain stay awake and stimulate my metabolic system.

My day begins as a freelance writer and theatrical producer are usually amazing days. I look forward to the sheer fact of my personal entertainment. One never knows what to expect. I love to observe and take into my mental awareness the actions of people from all walks of life. As a matter of fact, as in the movie Forest Gump, one of my favorite lines is, “LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES. YOU NEVER KNOW WHICH ONE YOU WILL GET”.

I look forward to the events of daily living from the people that are involved in my life, because I never know what to expect or how their individual lives will present itself in my presence. It is entertaining in a good way. I am people oriented and stimulated on how they decorate my life. People have a sense of humor about themselves, including me. What I do find utterly amusing, now that I may have the answer to the problem of what I call New Generation Beggars, is the persistent approach to the same people every single day of their lives as they beg for money, hold up a sign up that reads “I work For Food”, never ceases to amaze me. The new entourage of well dressed, well manicured beggars are the “film flamers” of the 21st century. It may have been going on before this time in my life, so I can only write about what I know to be true from my very own personal experiences. Men and women who look at me eye to eye and try to sell me on why they need my money, need to have their own reality TV show. I find it a disrespect to attempt to play with my intelligence or anyone’s intelligence who are sincerely compassionate to others who are in need.

There is a New Generation Beggar who relies on the system to support them. They can obtain a free cell phone, food stamps and all the wonderful glory the government can provide for them and STILL go out on the street and beg for money, void of a real job. They live to beg. To my surprise I learned that quite a few of these new generation of beggars actually live in nice homes or an apartment, either with someone or alone and rely on the compassion of others to give them what they ask for. These new generation beggars are probably richer than Bill Gates,or pretty close to becoming a multi-billionaire. This is a con-artist in every aspect of the word. A disrespect to society and a menace as well.

I had fallen into the “giving out of pocket” request many times until I REALLY observed their ’smooth operator” personalities. Through my own self awareness, I learned how to become more observant of how they were dressed. Once upon a time, I became captive to their pleas of need, only to find out that they were actually not in need of anything except a lobotomy in my opinion.

The real beggars are the ones who look like they are on their last lap of life. Unkempt and filthy looking, in my own opinion, will ALWAYS be the true beggars of society. They are the ones void of the freebies from the government and all the assistance thereof. One thing for sure, whatever their need is for that moment, drugs, food or clothing, seems to me to be a validation of their existence and one which really gives them the true title of being a homeless beggar.

Now, when one of the New Generation Of Beggars approaches my vehicle to wash my windshield at a traffic light for a dollar, dressed in expensive clothing, and the latest footwear, showcasing their manicure as they hold up their sign for me to read, I look at them with a mindless expression and hold up my hand made sign, “GIVE ME BACK WHAT YOU GOT FROM ME THE LAST TIME”. Their expressions are timeless. They have been exposed. My day becomes a priceless moment in my life etched somewhere in the “Akashic Records” in time(Edward Casey).
