This geographic article looks at how The Ohio River Valley has made a name for itself.

The Ohio River Valley

The Ohio River is 981 miles long and a number 1 place for trout fishing. In the 1800 this was ranked the 7th most polluted river in the world. The Ohio River is now one of the cleanest river in the world. This river used to be so dirty that ordinary people could smell it a mile away, now it’s a great fishing location, what a turnaround.

The reason why this river is so clean these days and continues to stay clean is because of a project called Orsanco that was established to control the pollution in the water. Orsanco also controls the protection of aquatic life and drinking water.
