We are all a bit mentlly unbalanced.
The only truly sane people
In this world of controversy confusion misgivings and disbelief it is easy for a person’s mental stability to be off kilter we think that we are logical and ethical and deeply committed to do the right thing. But is that at all possible when in reality the only truly sane people are newborn babies.
Newborn babies are pure instinct and correctly responsive. If I am hungry I cry. If I am wet and uncomfortable I cry. If I am lonely and want attention I cry. I get instant reactions to my actions. Then the learning and insanity starts.
I learn that crying gets results whether anything is wrong or not crying pays off. So if I do not want to lie down, I cry. If I do not like my food I cry. When crying seems to loose some of its power I move to temper tantrums. In essence I have learned to lie. on setting Then lying starts to cause my discomfort. You scold me, you ignore me. HHow can that be when something that was letting me get my way now causes me distress?
First loose screw ha emerged.
Several other screws are being jimmied along the infant years. Example; I am constantly taught that God is good and we must always praise him. We say prayers to him at night and thank him for always being with us. Then we start school. God is banned rum school why? Then something about school must be bad if God is not allowed here. God is not here at school protecting me, I am alone.
Another major screw loose
We loose a lot of screws here
Now there goes a big chunk of sanity is blasted off into space.
During our young adult years we have to make decisions to be right or left, anti this or that, religious or not and to raise children while battling mental defects. We must become con artists, ring masters, referees & commit our lives to personal sacrifices and atonements. Very few survive theses early adulthood years with any semblance of sanity left.
We hit mid-life as caricatures or self protecting avatars designed to get us over the pressure hump to old age. We have learned to go with the flow or find a mental fortress to hide in. We have discovered that our brain has been shattered and go on the hunt for the pieces. Some of us are just too exhausted and give in to reality diversions; drugs, causes, the mystical, etc. Those things just exacerbate the problem. Uh oh here comes old age. Sanity is in deep doo doo.
All in all it boils down to the fact that everyone except newborn babies is suffering with some degree of insanity, whether we know it our not
Super ego says to id; “cross that line & your behind is mine”
. Teenagers are lost in a middle earth like psychotic atmosphere, too big to be babied. But not yet respected as having the where with all to make major decisions. Then comes the teen years. Not only are teens fighting with the confusion of emerging personalities trying to govern their mentality, hormones are running amuck amidst the soup of paranoia.
