What is our freedom? We as everyday citizens, take things for granted. Can we as citizens, define freedom?

I remembered back when i was growing up as a child the stories my late grandfather would tell me what he went through when he was my age. At the time, i thought he was a little odd. I mean, nobody went through stuff like that. Not in this country. Not in my generation. But that was my problem. At that time, i had a one demensional mind. Me, Me, and Me. I didn’t stop to think at that time, what he went through when he was growing up. Interesting stuff….What he actually experienced as a child of his time. I didn’t realize at that time in my life, that he was trying to teach me something he valued very much.

And that of course was freedom. When i look back on what he was saying to me was we have a tendency to take things for granted. Point taken….When we want to go somewhere, anywhere, we just go and do it. Apparently, it’s not that way in a lot of countries. The freedom of free speech. The freedom to change jobs. The freedom to marry who we want to. That is just to name a few things we do take for granted. Now think about this for one moment. How many of our father’s and grandfather’s etc, etc, have died in foreign wars for that freedom? Except once or twice a year we think about this? Which brings me back to the original question. Can we as citizens, define freedom? Think about it….
