An article trying to figure out if there is a purpose to our existence and pattern to occurence of all events or the universe runs on randomness. It presents both the sides of the argument.

Life, as it is the most beautiful and admirable creation of the Universe. And most religions say every soul has a purpose on the planet,a purpose for existence. But is it true that everything in this world-every life form, every event that occurs has a purpose to it,that it has all been designed and destined to take place in a particular order or we are a product of random chemical reactions and biological mutations and evolution.Does everything that exists or occurs has a reason to it?

If we consider that every incident, every creation has a purpose and order to it,then arises the big question-what is the big meaning to it all?If everything is in order and has a purpose, then there has to be one big meaning to it all to make sense. In such a case one also deserves to know the purpose to his existence. If every event is supposed to take place in a predetermined order,is it possible to break the order?what happens in such a case? Also if such an assumption is correct, then would it not be possible to devise a method of predicting the order-the future??If everything occurs in a universal order then it should be possible to develop a method to find the way things work-the complex order equation. The Chaos Theory tries to find patterns in randomness and successfully has done it in a lot of cases. Is there a pattern to all events that occur in the universe? If yes, then what is the purpose that every life form serves?

On the other hand,if we consider that everything that happens is the accumulation of random events, each leading to another and everything is unpredictable and weird. It is a very scaring thought that the world runs on randomness and everything has been madly put to random behaviour. Here the question arises that Life, extremely complex and beautiful creation has always been believed to have a meaning to it and some people think that life cannot be a product of random particle collisions and reactions. The theory of randomness gets some consolidation if the variance of life forms in the universe is proved i.e we are not the only life forms and life is not rare.If millions of civilizations exist in the universe then the theory of random existence gets some help.

In my opinion, there is a purpose and a pattern to everything.Putting everything to randomness does not satisfy me.I believe we have a purpose and there is an order to every event that occurs.

I enjoyed your article. I am writing an essay right now about intelligent design vs. randomness. I agree that consciousness, morality and our very substance as a human being past flesh and bone couldn’t possibly be produced through randomness no matter how many years have passed. I also think that the discoveries which point to evolution do not take away from the idea of intelligent design, but is simply an unraveling of the methods in which the universe was created.
