The sea side magic

When Shakespeare wrote, “The world loves a lover,” he must have had in minda typical beach side panorama.

We have in Madras, India, one of the finest beaches of the world on the coast of Bay of Bengal. It is miles long and so vast that it could accommodate around ten million people. Thousands of citizens flock here every evening for a bit of relaxation and also to enjoy the cool sea breeze. If you want to see lovers gathered in numbers, this is the place. You could stand at a distance, even closer to them and watch them to your heart’s content. They wouldn’t mind it at all. In fact, they would be totally oblivious to your eavesdropping.

When you see love pairs, both old and young,, walking hand in hand and talking away to glory, or sitting on the sand gazing at eachother, you would find that one’s sprit is revived not by the salubrious Southern wind alone but by the spectacle of jubilant love birds too. The evening is thick with the fragrance of affections. The delightful partners would appear to transmit some kind of love-waves at the onlookers and they would suddenly find themselves a new person bubbling with love, grace and charm.

If ever you feel depressed yourself, all you have to do is to walk around the Marina beach for a while and sight the groups of lovers. When you see them filled with pleasures and sun shine, your own world of sorrow will shrink and you would go home a changed man with a discovery that life after all is still worth living.

If you have had a tiff with your wife and are on non talking terms with her temporarily, make a beeline to the beach line, select a crowded area, squat there and tune up your ears for the ether waves of love dialogues. After you hear the soft purls and sweet nothings and experience the warmth and joy of their giggles you would develop an urge to hold your other half and cry out, “Sorry my pet, I missed your sweet voice for so long.?” The tight control you had been keeping on yourself over the previous hour or so would suddenly snap and all barriers between you and your wife would crumble to pieces. Then you would return to your own love-nest a reformed husband with no memory of the past hour or two and make immediate peace with your lady love.

Such is the spell of the sea side human environment on you. You would try and get a first hand experience of this magnetic power on you, wouldn’t you?
