Wanted to wirte this after… you’ll find out.

I wanted to write this not because a teacher gave a really inspiring talk about the things we take for granted, not because something major had happened in my life but of something so small I wouldn’t have noticed if it weren’t gone. As I came home today my mum had gone and taken the mat at the front door away, for washing. Having lived at my house or five years or so, I finally realised that it was there, not that I haven’t seen it before but realises it can change make you notice it is there the next time you use it.

What I am trying to say is ‘you will not notice until it is gone’ and it is certainly true. So my next question to myself was ‘how do I tackle this problem?’ The answer is not so simple, how can I see what I haven’t seen before. Does that mean I become more observant? Well to a degree yes! I noticed a hidden word that was written on one of my book covers that is just so obvious now. This goes to show a little bit of attention can go a long way.

But are you scared of the little things now. No? Well you should be! What would you do if there were no toilet paper (bet you didn’t think of that)? Or if dinner wasn’t made… okay the latter was not so small. I guess what I am trying to say is bigger things can’t have been built without a small idea, object or just inspiration to start.
