Our soul sees opportunities for healing in every situation that challenges us or causes us hardship, expanding our consciousness and enlightenment, strengthening us and making us malleable so that we have no choice but to become stronger and more beautiful…different than we were when we entered the situation.

The way that we face the adversities we come up against and the kinds of challenges that we face define us as individuals and give meaning to who we are and why we are here, enabling us to achieve the objectives that we set up for ourselves long before we were born.

Too often we allow our egos to define us by our material possessions and superficial successes; those things that give us status amongst society.  The soul however has an entirely different agenda.  The soul cares not at all for ego stroking or easing the pain of our personality; its only concern is that an individual faces situations that work to refine and strengthen them, leading to purification that will bring them to the level where at they might finally become worthy of serving the purpose of the soul.

With this in mind, whenever we feel the need to ask ourselves why we are facing these particular challenges we need to remember that happiness, comfort, success and status, so important in our every day lives are in the end, simply optional extras along the road to growth…nice but not important.
