This article discusses some of the signs that people should be aware of, so people know when it is time to grow up and make better decisions.

Everyone faces the time to grow up in his or her life.  Some people grow up at an early age, and others do not grow up until late in life.  Some people are forced to grow up because of an unexpected curve ball in life, and others simply have the luxury of never feeling like they have to grow up simply because of the idea that there will always be some fool to take care of them.  Either way, part of life is knowing when it is time to grow up and when it is time to act like the mature adult.  Before discussing some of the signs to recognize when it is time to grow up, I want to clarify to my reader what I meaning by growing up.  A person can have fun, love to laugh and joke around, and even have the personality of a little kid, meaning being hyper.  Trust me, I am a college professor who is 30 years old, and I still act like a kid when it comes to my jokes and my hyper nature.  This is not what I mean by growing up.  What I mean is making mature decisions in life that positively affect you and your loved ones.  This article discusses the traits that people have and need to recognize when it comes to truly growing up and making mature decisions.

One of the things that people need to understand is a sign of needing to grow up is when you are past the age of 20 and you are doing things that harm yourself and those around you.  Some of these things include excessive alcohol use and drug abuse.  When you do any of these things and over do them, you are hurting yourself and your loved ones, which means that you are not making a mature decision.  This means grow up and be an adult who can spread a good influence to those around you.  Moreover, when you use alcohol or drugs as an excuse to escape the pressures of life, you not being mature, you are letting your id take the better of you.  Again, this is a sign to grow up, and how do you grow up?  Well, you recognize these harmful addictions and simply stop.

Another sign that should tell you when it is time to grow up is when you keep hanging around people that bring drama to your life.  If you hang around these people, it means that you are also a part of these people, and if you are a part of these people, then it means you must be drama also.   Some drama is necessary in life because it is a part of balance; it is a part that helps you discover what is true for your self.  That kind of drama will always exist.  The kind of drama that I am talking about are those who need to seek blame in everything that goes wrong in their life, or those type of people who get into uneducated arguments with friends and family.  Drama, stay away from it and know that it is time to grow up.  Face real drama, such as unavoidably illness or accidents; do not be around drama that you would see on those reality shows or T.V. court shows.  That is immature drama.
