Treasures aren’t always gold coins and jewels. The newspaper clippings that Lemon Brown treasured told of his performances at different theaters in the South and reviews of his shows more than 50 years ago. Lemon Brown treasured the successful blues singer and a harmonica player. In addition, he gave his son, Jesse, these newspaper clippings and the harmonica before he went to war. when he found out that Jesse had been killed in the war, and he had with him the harmonica and clippings of newspaper, it became bonding love between a father and son.

“one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” is a common idiom that means anything can be a treasure to someone. In the same way, in the short story “the treasure of Lemon Brown”, Lemon Brown’s treasure was a few old newspaper clippings and a battered old harmonica. These may not look valuable to anyone else’s eyes but Lemon brown’s.

Treasures aren’t always gold coins and jewels. “he reached the house just as another flash of lightning changed the night to day for an instant, then returned the graffiti-scarred building to the grim shadows.” In this story, setting was very important. For example, if it wasn’t in harlem and was in minnesota, it wouldn’t have the same feeling. Harlem, is a ghetto, made the mood more mysterious. “An old table on its side against one wall, what looked like a pile of rags or a torn mattress in the corner, and a couch, with one leg broken, in front of the window.” This gave a feeling of darkness and enhanced the mood of uncertainty.

Along with setting, character was also very important. Lemon Brown Was a Homeless guy wearing some rags, yet he had a treasure. Lemon Brown was also very brave, When some people came to steal his treasure; he threw himeslf at them to protect his treasure. He also didn’t fear for his life when he was diverting them away from Greg.

In conclusion, Treasures aren’t always gold coins and jewels, mood was very important, and even though his treasure wasn’t worth very much to other people, it had a lot of sentimental value to Lemon Brown. Ge was very unique in his own way, and the moral to the story is even the smallest thing can make a difference.

Wow… you have a terrible teacher. The paper is good.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with “sup.” An essay has one clear opinionated purpose it seeks to prove through evidence from the text. This is just a list of how the story elements play out in the story, but they’re treated in total isolation. Then, at the end, you “conclude” on behalf of the reader that your point is proven, though you abandon it completely for the majority of the writing, which lacks development and organization. Your paragraph about the setting, for example, has nothing to do with your “point”. Finally, grammar and mechanics matter, too. Not that I’m your teacher, I hope this helps.

It’s good for content, but the grammar and writing is very bad. The essay itself is good but I think it deserved the grade it got(generally, grammar is important when writing for an english class).

What is the conflict in this story? How Does the writer present the problem between the protagonist and antagonist?
