Bread of Life: And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

If Christ did nothing except to save us from sin and eternal damnation, He would be worthy of our undying obedience and eternal gratitude; but our Lord does more. The one who saves and owns us also shows us how to live and overcome in life. He shows us not just by His word but also by His example.

Anyone who has tried to set up new equipment knows that no matter how comprehensive the instructional manual is, it is always better to have someone there who knows how it all works to show you the way.

Jesus is the word of God made flesh. In the beginning, God only spoke His word. Then He wrote down His word for the children of Israel; but in Christ the word was manifested and lived for all to see.

God became flesh in Christ not to cancel the written word but to show it and fulfill it. Christ is our model and picture of how to live out the compassion, grace, wisdom and power of the word of God.

In Christ we see how to:
• Overcome temptation: by resisting the words of the devil with the written word of God
• Begin important assignments: by spending time in prayer and fasting for guidance and the enablement of the Holy Spirit
• Achieve the purposes of God: by surrendering our will to the Father and trusting Him to keep us
• Deal with those who hurts us: by asking God to forgive them of their wrongs against us.
