Thoughts on the world, and how it seems to be receding, instead of advancing.

I feel sometimes as if the world isn’t as advanced as we think it is. Maybe it’s not that we’re gaining knowledge, or getting smarter. Maybe it’s that we’re going backwards, getting weaker, dying off. Maybe it’s a cycle. It happens over and over again. The world is wiped clean, and is reborn. Life emerges from the water, we advance past grunting, and we make fire. We learn to kill, we start wars, and we end epidemics.

We weaken the race, overall, by introducing antibiotics, which yes, fight infection, but also force the bacteria/viruses/infections to mutate, and become stronger. As the evils in the world become stronger, we become weaker. We’re starved for oxygen by all the pollution. We’re forced to stay inside our temperature controlled houses to avoid the heat. We’re forced to listen to our music even louder, due to the fact that we’re near deaf. Eventually, as a race, we die off. We’re wiped clean, and we begin anew.
