One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone who doesn’t understand pretends like he/she does. For example, after my eighth grade year I had surgery on my back to correct my bad case of scoliosis. The surgery went great. However, the recovery process is not pain free. That process is not always quick either. It can last months, a year, or more. I am mostly recovered, except for the muscles in my back that I have to rebuild and my flexibility. Those weak back muscles cause me pain every day. I deal with it. Sometimes, though, the pain is really bad and I complain and once I even cried. Now, getting to the point. My brother is the most insensitive person I know. Then and now, he always calls me a wimp and uses that moment as his proof. He does not even know how much that hurt. I do not think anyone in my family fully understands my pain. It is frustrating when people do not understand, but even more frustrating when they don’t understand and pretend like they do.
