The recent media feeding frenzy over Tiger Woods’ recent car accident fuels allegations of extramarital affairs.
When Tiger Woods wrecked his SUV in the wee morning hours on November 27, 2009 it’s certain he had no idea that less than a week later his personal life and his stellar reputation would be wrecked as well.
Although details about the accident were sketchy at best immediately following the accident, as the hours rolled by the media started dogmatically digging for the down and dirty details. Apparently, the reason he was out at 2:30 am and obviously so distracted that he drove his SUV into a tree, was due to an argument between he and his wife, Elin Nordegren. After further media investigation, it’s alleged the argument ensued after reading texts messages between Tiger and one of his many rumored mistresses, Rachel Uchitel.
Until current events transpired, Tiger has been quite successful at avoiding intense media scrutiny into his personal life. He has not only built the most triumphant career in the world of professional golf, he has also amassed a fortune that is estimated at 1 billion dollars. But, are we really shocked? After all, he ishuman and his success has made him one of the most sought after figures in the world of professional sports by both females and males alike. Do his transgressions make him any less of a golfer or less

likable in general? No. Nor should they. Had he not wrecked his SUV, the general public would have been none the wiser regarding his supposed indiscretions. And, quite frankly the public is not any better served for knowing about them.
The media piranhas sensed blood and are not content with just the details of the accident. They want every last bloody morsel of the intimate details of Tiger’s marriage and his assumed careless transgressions. They care not if it hurts his wife, children or Tiger himself. They claim that the public has a right to know. NO, we don’t. He’s not in a position of public service. He’s a professional golfer who gets paid fantastically for what he does because he’s the best at what he does. This does not entitle the media or anyone else for that matter, to go prying into his personal life, wreaking havoc along the way. He deserves better and so does his family. It’s called a personal life for a reason folks. Because it’s personal.
Every time a new report surfaces or a meager crumb is thrown the way of these so called “journalists”, every glory seeking loser who has ever made eye contact with Tiger Woods, suddenly has “new and vital” information to the developing story. They are like maggots on a rotting piece of meat, and we the public are their festering outlet. Maybe the media should use their “sniffing” techniques for something useful such as, I don’t know, FINDING OSAMA BIN LADEN maybe? Any media outlet that’s good enough to find out the exact details of when Tiger “exchanged body fluids” with his reported lady friends ought to be able to find Osama don’t ya think?
At any rate, the world doesn’t need another tarnished hero, compliments of the media. His accomplishments, of which are numerous to be sure, should not be thrust aside and dismissed because of purported impropriety. He’s still the best golfer to ever hit the greens and he’s still a genuinely great guy. Let’s leave his private life just that. PRIVATE. After all, whoever said hero’s weren’t tarnished?
