The joy and sorrow of going home for Christmas…:)

Can you see the Christmas tree? The lights and the ornaments? First the little ones decorate it with much desire and heart, they are the ones that trully light up the holiday. You would watch them carry boxes into the living room. Each of them struggling a little more than the next. You watch them place them onto the floor and look up at the real, pine tree. You see them holding up their noses to smell the tree smell, and they seemed to get lost into it for a while, but there is always one little girl who gets them back on task. You watch them open up the first box full of lights, you aren’t sure which one it is because you can’t see inside. The children groupr around the tree and start wrapping the lights. You notice how well they work together and it is such a beautiful sight. They are finally done and they all go back to the back to the boxes. They pull out silve and colorful ornaments even ones that are homemade or even representing something. They place each one on the tree not to close together and with tons of care. You love it more than anything, and you try not to cry. You watch as they each one by one step back and look at it satisfied. You turn to the side and notice a little girl picking something up out of the box, and holding it more gently than the children carried the box. She walks up slowly to the tree and a little boy lifts her up. She places it on the top of the tree, and jumps down from off the boy’s back. I look at the piece to notice it is a big, angel. A white gown and a gold halo, and blue eyes. You look at it for a while and see why it’s important. I watch it stare back at me and I know it is the guardian angel it watches you and cares for the tree. The kids plug the tree in and light blaze around the room. Gold lights fly from east to west and north to south. It is so overwhelming as the angel lights up as well. That is when the tears fall from your eyes.  Its time to go home for Christmas.
