Importance of Choosing the Right Screws

Choosing the right types of screws/huck bolts can ensure the success and safety of the projects you are doing. When it comes to machineries installation, not using the right socket head cap screw can endanger not only yourself but also the other people who will be using the machines you assembled. You want to use the correct size of screw or the type that would make it easier for you especially if the machinery needs moving from time to time.

1.  Countersunk – Slot Head

This type of screw is commonly used in wood projects. For example, if you are designing a door for your house or you are making a tree house for your children, then it is best for you to use slot head screws, which are better suited with hinges and woodworks. Because this type of screw has a head that’s shaped like a funnel, you can easily tighten it “flush” to the surface of the material you’re driving it into.

2.  Pozidriv Head

This type is ideal for corners and hard-to-reach places. They are used with special screwdrivers that do not let them slip when you do your project.  This type is also ideal for confined places such as cabinets and drawers.

3.  Socket Head Cap Screw

Probably one of the most commonly used types today is the socket head cap screw. This type is usually used in machineries, particularly in assembling removable parts and panels. You would also need a wrench in order for you to tighten this type.

A socket head cap screw also comes in different heads. You should know what cap head you need in order to proceed with your installations properly. Long caps, for example, are easier to detect and see when used. Button and flat head socket head cap screw are more likely to be subtle and hidden when used in machines. If you are considering the appearance of the screws when used, then you should consider using a chrome-type socket head cap screw.

4.  Round Head

Round head screws are an alternative to countersunk screws especially if you want to add a little extra style into your installations. This type is also easier to unscrew.
