Tips On How To Live A Happy, Healthy Life
You choose how to live your life. What you do in your life now will surely determine your future. If you opt to invest on a happy and healthy life, you should at least make a start today.
Are you one of those people who smoke, get drunk, eat unhealthy, doesn’t exercise, curses, emotionally battered, fatigued and always sees the darker side of life?
Don’t despair. There is hope for you. However, it should start from within you. You should at least find a little space from among the cobwebs that had slowly accumulated over the years inside you and start from there.
Find at least one reason to smile. Start from there. Then everything else will surely follow.
But then..
You got home from work exhausted, only to find the house in total chaos. Magazines in disarray, a half filled cup of coffee on the table, the couch smelled of smoke and sweat, popcorn on the floor. Dishes are everywhere. In short, your life is a mess, inside and out. What do you do? Leave it there. Find a spot on the couch and doze it off, things will be better when you wake up? I don’t think so.
Try this instead:
Step 1. Turn on the music.
By music, I mean something that can help you relax, not agitate you.
Step 2. Gather all the dishes, cups, glasses, whatever that needs washing, and put them together neatly in the kitchen sink.
You can wash them now or later. It depends really on you, the important thing is, they are in a place where they should be, not just everywhere.
Step 3. Get the vacuum cleaner and clean the popcorn on the floor, the couch, including the cigarette butts. And don’t forget to empty your ash tray.
This task will considerably reduce the dust and mites that had built up on your couch, thus reducing your risk of having allergy-related adverse health conditions.
Step 4. Arrange the magazines in place and get a warm shower.
A warm shower will definitely refresh and relax you. A relaxed mind and body will be able to rest and sleep better.
Step 5. Fix yourself a healthy meal. Instead of reaching for the phone and dialing pizza delivery. Why not try and make a vegetable salad? Alternatively, a wheat based chicken sandwich, complete with tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce. It tastes yummier and is definitely healthier!
Step 6. Drink lots of water. Avoid soda and go for natural fruit juices, by natural I mean, you juice them fruits yourself!
Step 7. Open your window. Let the fresh air in. Look outside and remember the good times. Don’t smoke. Allow this moment to be spent on reminiscing the times you never smoked. Chew some gum instead. Allow yourself to think of happy thoughts.
Step 8. Don’t watch TV until you find yourself drifting to unconsciousness, rather, read a good book. Stretch yourself and don’t slump.
Step 9. Lie down and close your eyes. Palms open on your sides. Clear your thoughts and concentrate on your breathing. inhale. exhale.
This process will surely help you get a good nights’ sleep.
Step 10. Pray. Be thankful for your life. Be happy that you have a work that you hate, others have no work at all. Be happy that you have a messy home, others do not even know where to sleep the night. Be thankful for everything, others really have nothing.
Happiness and Wellness go hand in hand. A healthy mind starts with a healthy body. You choose to be happy or to be miserable in your life. You are the sole determinant of your tomorrow. If you invest to be happy and well now, you will reap the rewards in the coming years. Love yourself, Love your life.
