A message to those out there that love.

Today I have decided to share something that’s been on my mind for those who may be curious.

It’s all about love and how I’ve begun to see it.. unusually.

What do I feel that love is? In a statement, it’s like being alone. That may sound cold and cynical, but it’s not meant to be; let me explain. How I feel when I am completely alone is a feeling of almost perfection. Freedom, independence, comfort, relaxation, confidence, empowerment.. things one cannot feel in their entirety nor in their complete richness with others watching. No judgment, no lies, just you.

This is love. Total, unmatched contentment. This is also where love falls apart for solitude is a direct result of being without other people whereas love depends on the opposite. So love, I then believe, is the acceptance of another into one’s realm of solace. The place and condition which is optimal as an individual must make way for a second, a partner, a lover. And when you can find the addition of this other into your idea of singular perfection to be an acceptable or agreeable one, you can care, feel, and enjoy the person. A friend.

But when you find that this other individual has become a true part of the fantasy, that is when you can actually love. That is love. You can no longer find the contentment or fulfillment in your ‘alone place’ that you once did. It’s because the thing that brings you the greatest feelings, beyond what you experienced before, is not there. It is not complete without your love. Everything you felt previously is more now, is greater with the other. That, my friends, is love.

Feeling as if you are alone when you’re not alone.
