So you’re probably thinking to yourself, “If I was in space, what would I do?” Okay…maybe not. But you have to admit, the thought has crossed your mind. Or if it hasn’t, it will. Anyways, here’s my Top 10 list on the things you have got to do while in space. And who knows? If one day you do travel to the stars, maybe you’ll get to do a couple of these things in your spare time.

#10 – Write a Daily Journal Entry

“Captain’s Log, Stardate 49281.5 – I had an apple for breakfast. On the downside, I discovered that the toilet got destroyed in that last attack by the Romulans, and we’re ten years away from reaching that other galaxy. This is going to be a long ride…”

#9 – Do Some Sightseeing

“This telescope is pretty awesome. Hey! Is that a ship designed to look like a fly? Oh wait; it’s just a fly on my telescope lens…”

#8 – Travel to the Future

Wouldn’t it be awesome to see the future of our civilization? Will the human society still be alive in the 31st century, or will Earth have been destroyed in a devastating attack by an alien race?

#7 – Use The Transporter

“Awesome! Beam me up Scotty!” “I keep telling ya, mate – my name isn’t Scotty! I don’t even come from your planet! Ack!”

#6 – Travel to the Center of the Universe

Honestly, though. What does lie at the center of the universe? Wouldn’t you like to find out?

#5 – Build a Doomsday Machine

Now THIS would be amazing! Building a Death Star would make other races think twice before questioning your orders or disobeying your commands! Just make sure it’s completely protected, unlike the one in Star Wars, which had a major design flaw.

#4 – Visit an Alternate Universe

Your alternate double could be the richest, most powerful person on Earth. Heck, he/she could even be the ruler of the entire human race! Why would you not want to meet your identical power-ruling self?

#3 – Travel Back in Time

Who needs to travel to the future when you can go back to the past and alter history? You can invent the computer 25 years before Bill Gates does, and make a fortune! And don’t worry about corrupting the timeline – you can always travel one day prior to the day you screwed up humanity and not do what you did in the first place.

#2 – Engage an Alien in Ship-to-Ship Combat

Wouldn’t it be cool to fire lasers or torpedoes at an enemy alien’s ship? Ok, maybe not so cool for the alien, but the resulting explosion would be spectacular! Besides, isn’t that why we watch Star Trek and Star Wars anyway – to see the weapons fire and special effects? I doubt you’d be a science-fiction fan if you didn’t like the action sequences.

#1 – Help Repopulate an Alien Race

Admit it. You’ve thought about what it’d be like to have sex with another species. Who knows? Maybe you’ll end up creating some sort of human/alien hybrid that’ll one day rule the universe!
