This tells it how it is, hopefuly it will change with the changing times. To drive in this city you have to be very alert and aware of every movement around you, others just go full speed ahead and it costs lives.

These rules apply to you if you drive a car.

Red light means stop, not drift on through

No-passing on the right, means you have to pass on the left.

No left turn means you can’t turn left here.

No U turn – means you have to keep going the way you are.

Yield to oncoming traffic, means there is going to be a grid lock. No one  will yield, because  they got  there first.

Give way to emergency vehicles-means follow the ambulance as closely as you can to get through the traffic.

Pedestrian crossing – put on your running shoes before stepping into the street.

Unwritten rule is to stop for a woman with baby to cross street.

If they wrote it down no one would obey it.

Children able to walk and run are on their own, if they make it across the street it means they are a good runner.

Crosswalks are meaningless; they only put you in the target zone for a fast moving motorcycle.

When backing into the street go very slowly to hold up as much traffic as you can. People will think you are being cautious.

Cops  give  pedestrians  a ticket  for  getting  in the  way of  traffic, if  you stop for a pedestrian  you get  rear ended.

If   a 10 wheel dump truck goes through an intersection at less than 40 mph its like being parked.

The best time to cross the street is when someone is making   a left turn and stops the traffic. But you still have to watch, someone will try to go around every one, you could easily get hit that way.

Passing is done with wild abandon, especially by motorcycles, if there is a grid lock they get out in the oncoming lane  and  pass every one   they  can.  No one wants to be last so they all jockey to be the first, sometimes it is  a real wild  scene

These things may seem funny to you and it is partially intended to get a laugh. Seriously folks this is how  it  is  in one  city south of  Manila perhaps, hopefuly as the  young  people  grow  up and  become more responsible it  will change.

The other thing  that is  happening   the  people are  traveling to  other countries more and getting some  insight of  how  it  is  in other countries. This will help the people improve because they will want to be progressive like the other countries in their region.
