I have a daily problem about trainees and how we get treated.

Can you stand to work hard, 8 hours/day, 5 days á week?

Well, yes you certainly can, if you get paid and am an employee of the specific business.

I’ve noticed that the, particularly big group, called Trainees, are being unfairly treated and don’t get paid for their affords.
I myself am a trainee for a big company that makes Venetian Blind Slatings.
The work time is between 06:00 to 16:00, that makes 9 hours per day. I’m not employed because they don’t seem interested to employ some fresh young meat.

The U.B (Unemployment Bureau) gives me about $20 á day, that’s approximately the payment per hour for the employed people who work there.
I don’t actually complain about that, but what really bugs me is that I’m doing exactly the same things as the employed does. The same hard work, barely no brakes, lift up heavy aluminium coils etc.

So, am I supposed to do one mans job when I’m temporarily located at the company as a trainee?
I find that hard to believe. In my country we have different compartments for different jobs (compartment for industry workers, academics, nurses/doctors etc), and according to them it is not legal to do the what I’m doing.

Of course they say that I can do one mans job, if I WANT to, want and should are two different terms.

“But hey man, now you say you can do it if you want to, but you’ve just wrote about it like you needed to do that kind of work”

Yes, it’s true, but if I refuse to do the tasks I’m given, they will report to the U.B who will have a less nice chat with me about how important it is to work hard and do your best.

A trainee is the kind of person companies use to their fullest capability. They know, as a trainee you do the tasks you’ve been given without complaints.

Finally I’d like to say;
Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something
