Garbage collectors have little respect for the bins but they’re your property.
Trash etiquette–is it really that hard? Trashmen can be seen casually tossing the bins on the sidewalk, letting them hit with a resounding crack. Over time, the bins become brittle and more prone to breaking, especially in winter. When the bins finally break, why should the owners have to pay for the trashmen’s blatant disrepect for their property? Where I live, the town is raising the prices of garbage cans and recycling bins even higher. The garbage men don’t have to be precise and place them exactly where they were but they should set them down gently rather than throwing them from the truck onto the pavement. Is it really that much to ask?
You have to stop and wonder if they do the same when collecting trash at their houses. The answer is probably no, so why should they treat everyone else differently?
