The Canadian RCMP are investigating the suspicious death of noncelebrity author Bo Jack Russo.

The RCMP (that’s Royal Canadian Mounted Police) have not yet released a statement about the tragic death of author, poet, and former Pirate King Bo Jack Russo, late of San Diego, California. They are treating the death as a homicide, considering the bizarre circumstance that an American citizen would be caught dead in Canada in January.

Russo’s mangled body was found in the women’s restroom of the Tim Horton’s coffee shop in Calgary, Alberta; at approximately 3:00 am (Tim Horton’s coffee shops are open 24/7 and always guarantee fresh coffee). Cause of death has not been determined, but it would appear that he died of massive blood loss. His entire body was covered in what appear to be cat scratches.

One detail that RCMP statesman Corporal Rex Philanthrofeline released to the news media was that a paper printout of an email sent to a B. Nelson from a Becky Russo was found stuffed in the victim’s mouth. The paper was badly damaged and completely illegible so a computer data recovery specialist Onlywaytobesure was brought in to assist in the investigation. Within eight seconds, Mr. Tobesure uncovered a string of emails sent back and forth from the computer of B. Nelson to a user in Russo’s own home. The communications revealed that two females who apparently lived in Russo’s home, Becky and Jessie had contacted Nelson and complained that Russo was not cleaning the litter box often enough, and they were both getting tired of holding it. A third female in the Russo household known only as K was interviewed by the RCMP and she collaborated the accusation about the neglected litter box, but denied any involvement in either the emails or the death of Bo Jack Russo.

Canadian CSI personnel are expected to have the evidence report ready by June 1, 2011.  Charges may be levied at that time, but for now no arrests have been made.

This just confirms my suspicion that cats are evil creatures. What a horrible way for our beloved Bo to meet his end!

Such grief and mourning! Such heartbreak!

(Such wonderful humor to start my day with Karen)

OMG, NO! Say it isn’t so! I can’t I live without Bo. He was a legend in his own mind but the cats had other plans. Since I worked nights this weekend, this was a great end to my day. Did you send Bo, a special message to look out for his name in the headlines?

I was shocked over the news but when I saw a comment for your article from a person with the same name (Bo Jack Russo), I am somewhat confused.

  • Karen Gross on Jan 11, 2010

Hey – don’t shoot the reporter! I haven’t left Manitoba in years, and, as you recall, your untimely passing occured in Calgary, Alberta.

Becky and Jessie wrote me an email today. Apparently since you have two cats, you also have 14 lives. They said that if you don’t want to lose another one, clean that litter box!

    Quite amusing.

  • Brenda Nelson on Jan 11, 2010

Its true, I just got back from the Police station where I was questioned for 4 hours.
Becky and I have been in communication. BUT if she did it (and I am not saying she did) it was justifyable and I wouldnt testify against her.
Also I had to prove to the investigators that at the time I was 3 hours away sleeping. The only witness to my being a sleep at the time was my own cat Rilke.

“Bo Jack Russo is back from the Dead!” is tomorrow’s newspaper headline.

  • Jamie Myles on Jan 11, 2010

Quite amusing! This should be a warning to all cat owners, Clean the litter box!

  • Christine Ramsay on Jan 11, 2010

I really believed that. OMG I’m still shaking. KAREN!!!!!

Correction: my second grade math teacher, Miss Boothe, just contacted me to remind me that if Bo Jack Russo has two cats, and cats each have nine lives, that would mean that Bo has eighteen lives, not fourteen as I said in my previous comment.

Thanks for being such good sports, Bo Jack and B Nelson.

  • clay hurtubise on Jan 11, 2010

I heard it was Bo’s evil twin that died and Bo is still not cleaning the litter box!
    Fun piece!
    Thanks,
    Clay
P.S. Bo, you’d better be more careful!
