It is important for people to be able to trust you because in life you are almost always in a situation based on trust in some way. When a person is dishonest they usually pretend there is nothing wrong or shift the blame to someone else. They try to avoid being embarrassed by distracting themselves so they can minimize conflict.

Make it a goal to tell the truth and reach that goal. Tell someone about your decision to be honest even challenge them to do the same, and you just trusted someone by telling them that. Think before you lie and make sure that you don’t miss-communicate or exaggerate things as that usually ends up making you look like your lying. When you start telling a lie it becomes to hard to remember each lie to cover up the original lie.
