Astronomy, as a science that can answer endless enigmas of space, has been always fascinating for me. Looking at the clear night sky studded with stellar constellations, I have always wondered if I would have a chance to have a close look at Great Bear, Virgo, Taurus, Libra, etc. Thanks to modern technologies, we can have a lot of images of space, planets, stars, galaxies and spacecrafts, created with powerful telescopes at state-of the-art observatories.

I have browsed through tons of pictures and compiled this little album of my favorites with my comments.

This amazing view of Big Bear’s sunspot reminds me of an ancient unique golden jewelry, the type that you would see in a museum covered with bullet-proof glass.

Baby Black Hole

This picture would be a great illustration for sci-fi books titled “Black hole……”

This photo was made outside the International Space Station. Isn’t it marvelous that we have technology to have a glimpse on what’s going on the space and take unique pictures like this one?

The picture of extreme ultraviolet image of the Sun was taken from the Solar Dynamics Observatory. Having all that gorgeous shine, it looks like a precious gem from a royal crown.

 “Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high,

Like a diamond in the sky!”

 It reminds me of a picture of a cell. At least it has nuclear and nucleolus.

 Doesn’t it look like a scene from Avatar movie?

Can you see a tiny shadow of the spacecraft in the picture? Amazing, isn’t it?

The Universe is beautiful and amazing. The more we learn about it, the more interesting it gets.
