God wants us to depend on Him while we are awake as we must when we are asleep.

Image via Wikipedia

I have never walked in my sleep or known anyone who has, but I have talked in my sleep.  When people who walk or talk in their sleep wake up, they don’t remember what they did while they were asleep.

Psalm 3:5 says, “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.”  When we are asleep is the only time we are truly dependent on God and helpless in our own ability.  Our conscience minds stops controlling what we do and say, or think.

That is why God often speaks to people in dreams.  He has no interference at this time.  God would like me to live in this state of dependency when I am awake as well.  He seeks go be in control of my life 24/7.  So, I pray that God will make me a waking sleepwalker.

I have often talked in my sleep, even lately; I wake myself up with my voice. As a young woman, I also walked in my sleep, sometimes remembering what I did. Sometimes those were distructive actions for which I had no control. Your post is well received.Thank you.
