This is a short article about my experiences and knowledge of wasps.
Enjoy
Ps: If you’ve just been stung and if you know you are allergic, please skip this article and head to the doctors.
Wasps
Wasps are a part of life and the ecosystem. There are many of them all around the world. Usually, wasps are thought to be more dangerous than bees, but this is an incorrect fact.
When it comes to a bee sting, they inject poison into you body, whereas a wasp will only hurt you and fly away.
Why do wasps sting?
Wasps like any other animal sting or attack for the same reason. If an animal feels, their babies or habitat is under attack, they will go after the supposed offender and about 90% of the times, they will have no clue until the wasps has stung them.
One day I was walking to my car which was about 10 metres away from my front door step. Half way into my ten metre “journey”, I was approached by an adult wasp and stung me instantly. I didn’t have any idea why it stung me, but it seemed that it had finally succeeded after two failed attacks.
How to treat a wasp sting or wound?
When it comes to treating the sting, the most you can do is relieve most of the pain. Strong Alcohol, such as whisky will work like an antiseptic and clean the wound. Then wrap a hand full of ice with a tea towel and place it on the wound. At first, it may hurt, but as time passes you will start to feel better and better and eventually, you will get to a point where about 95% of the pain is gone. If you want to get rid of the rest, the best solution is to sleep it off. When you wake up, your ear will be back in perfect shape to hear you girlfriend nag about he hair or nails.
Thanks
If you have any further questions relating to this topic, please do not hesitate to ask me. If you do have wasp allergies, my suggestion would be to skip what you’ve read and head straight for the doctors. If it is during the night and the doctors have close, you should wait for about ten minutes to see what happens. If it gets worse, get it checked out at the hospital.
