It is important to have a corner for ourselves to grow, thrive and survive. To adorn and utilize our part of the world.
Looking for a corner? There is none you will find: the world is spherical. Go create one for ourself, and remember corners are flexible- literal or metaphoric assuming various forms and features.
My Corner
My corner used to be a shelf with a stack of messed up papers, my pass book, a diary, some stationery, books and magazines, a bag— nothing extraordinary, yet they spoke of my presence, and that even in my absence. Now of course the laptop is an addition.
We all love our own corners as we mostly happen to create them ourselves and hence the number of pet names—niche, nook and cranny.
Benefits of our corner
Like a womb, a corner keeps us caressed and hidden wherein we can do almost anything. Just as the embryo kicks from within, unhindered, we too are free to go about our way at our corners without being frowned upon in the least.Like scratching and scribbling or talking unawares. It can act as a hub for all sorts of fun frolic on one hand and on the other hand, it can serve to be a veritable niche of ours for solace and concentration.
See tall that lamp there? The corner has accommodated it without a hint of a grouse or murmur, as compared with the stark centre of the room that rejected to have it there point blank. Now the lamp glows from there to create an aura about the whole room, centre and all to share.
How to use our corner
So let us be grateful to have a corner of our own, make good use of it by keeping all our essentials there right at hand. The habit of keeping useful things, such as books stashed away out of reach to maintain the so called impeccable neatness makes us oblivious of them in the long run. What are our corners for then?
Lastly, let us not forget adorn that patch of soil with a plant. That too is a corner of ours, in a broader scale it contributes to a corner of the world and watch how we savour the result of our effort with time.
