A tragic state of affairs in the life of two families, but the implications are worse.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
There is a mother of two teenage sons, named Trisha Conlon, who just lost a court battle for custody of her children. Trisha is a good mother, but the reason she wants her children is the tragic part of the story.
Her husband, retired Marine fighter pilot Lt. Col. John P. Cushing, Jr. was married to another woman years earlier, and this wife shot and killed both of their children, and was found not guilty by reason of insanity while under the adverse effects of Prozac. Hmmm? Kill because I was ordered to by my pills?
John and Trisha were married years later after he divorced the first wife, Kristine.
Now, enter the ruination of two families. John and Trisha were divorced in 2004, after having two boys, and John remarried his first wife, Kristine, without letting Trisha Conlon know, even with the past history of his first wife’s killings.
John has custody of his two new children by the second wife, and has his first wife, whom he has remarried, taking care of them, but that’s okay, because he’s not worried about her doing this again. However, if that is so, why does he leave his weapons in a safe location at a friend’s house, and not under his own roof with the first wife? Trisha lost her court battle, but her ex-husband isn’t worried about his children’s safety, and the courts bought it.
He has total custody of his and Trisha’s children, and the countdown continues to the next explosive use of Prozac as an excuse, only this time with someone else’s children.
What do you think of this court finding, and do you think that maybe no good will come out of it?
I found this story in the Seattle Times, July 30, 2011 edition under the heading of ‘Mom doesn’t want sons living with woman who killed 2 kids’
