What does the past mean to you? To some, past is something they would never forget and each time they remember it, it brings memories of pain and regret. Some on the other hand try to learn from their past and forge ahead because of the belief that our past makes us who we are today. Based on this, we should try not to make our past our burden because if we do-it will always eats away at us.

Past should belong to past. The only lesson to learn from it is to ensure that the mistakes embedded in them are not repeated. Some people make their past their burden and this hinder their progress later in life and also affects one way or the other their interactions with other people. They go about being consumed with hatred and regrets that the past experience has given to them.

Today, nations of the world are still at each others neck trying to bring down one another because of the mistakes of the past. These powerful nations who have found it extremely difficult to derive some wisdoms in their pasts are secretely gathering intelligence to deal with their perceived enemies. That is why today, terrorism is still being fought with human blood and the cost is enomous.

Terrorists have found it difficult to put their past vengeance behind and forge ahead with their lives. On the other hand, nations who have witnessed the ugly sides of terrorism are on a daily basis spending huge resources to hunt the terrorists down. The situation has raised the question of who is really hunting who?

Time has come for all of us to put our past behind us and forge ahead. Rather than making past our burden; we should try and learn from it and go on with our different lives.
