Nude and naked are two words of the English language that though having the same meaning have a different connotation all together.
Recently a friend of mine who is a Lady artist invited me to a painting session where some of the models would pose nude. i accepted. but I asked her whether the models would be naked ? She was horrified and mentioned that she meant nude, not naked.
Nude is an artistic word and is used in the realm of the arts and the higher forms of literature. Naked on the other hand is a coarse word used more to denote something that is open and bare. It could refer to anything from a body to a mountain or a place. it could also refer to your inner feelings. It is word bereft of the finer points of life. Thus one can talk of a nude model but rarely of a naked model. Similarly one can talk of a naked dagger, but not a nude dagger.
Nudity is of Greek origin and the ancient artists and philosophers took nudity as something god given, to be cherished and loved and if required be presented in sculptors and paintings. Even in ancient Hindu thought a nude body is a thing of joy, to be cherished. Hence the famous Hindu temples depicted nude Goddesses as part of worship and thus adorned the walls of the shrines.
Nakedness can also have an element of force. A woman can be divested of her attire and made nake, but nudosm is something more finer and there is no element of coercion in it. Thus the vario models pose in the nude.there is no compulsion involved. nakedness on the other hand has a wude connotation and could refer to a body , a soul or for that matter anything. it is unbaring of the innermost recesses of the body, soul or anything.
Generally both words though having the same end result lead to different realms. One is mainly concerned with the human body (Nudity) and the other is more coerce and conveys a sense of desperateness . The distinction is subtle and only thertist or a creative man can apprecoate the difference.
