Let us pray in our own fashion, that our new President will keep us safe.

What Were You Doing On September 11, 2001  Last Part

I have mentioned the people; the families and I have brought God into this, but what about the President. The president at the time is was President George W. Bush, and he got more than he bargained for when he became President. Handed to him was someone else’s headache, which would affect us for years to come. Many don’t realize that it was something that could have been avoid; since they knew that this was being planned, since the “failure” of the first attempt in 1993; but nobody took it seriously.

President Clinton was told that Osama Bin Laden was going to create trouble for the United States of America; but he did not listen! President Bush had American Intelligences on the case, and given more time they may have been able to avoid the devastation that occurred that clear blue morning of September 11, 2001.

Time was not on our side, and we all seen what had happened; after it was realized that we were being attacked on our own soil, using our own equipment, George W. Bush; grounded all airplanes. He gave the order that any planes left in the air, would receive a warning if they did not heed, they would be shot out of the sky. He became very aggressive and make it very clear that we were at war and that we would do what ever we had to do, to avoid this happening again; at least on his watch.

He visited the horrific sites, he visited families that lost someone either on the plane, or in the buildings, and he became a strong fighting President with a goal. He tried his best to connect with the American people and he set out to destroy terrorism.

When he left the office he was not very popular, like everyone he made mistakes; but he did keep his promise and since that day we have not been attack.

Let us pray that our new President will keep us just as safe.
