…………….

I can’t clearly remember when was it when my mother let me had her pretty suiting yellow shirt. When I tried it on, I got a pause and examined my whole in the mirror. I was kinda glad to see that I look good in yellow. From then on, I learned to appreciate the shades of yellow — from apparels to accessories, bags and even furniture and other stuffs.

What so good about yellow? Aside from the fact that it suits to my taste and preference, I have learned that yellow signifies cheerfulness and bright personality. Like the sun, it symbolizes light and energy. It is considered as an optimistic color. It is so bright and radiant that it loses someone’s temper. It also means clarity and awareness. Yellow is also found on the traffic lights. It serves as a warning.  The color of yellow actually shows creativity and artistry. In fact, girlish and child-like stuffs are mostly colored yellow since they seem so attractive and an attention getter, making stuffs to artistic in appearance. When you dream of yellow, it means struggles before achievement is reached.

In Asia, yellow signifies sacred and imperial feeling. In western countries, it symbolizes joy and happiness. Americans find the color of yellow as a symbol of love and overcoming challenges. In Egypt and in Burma, however, yellow represents mourning. During the Dynasty ages, women uses yellow ribbons as sign of men to return from war.  From what I see here in the Philippines, yellow is a sign of hope and a new tomorrow. This was the color code used by our late President Corazon Aquino in overcoming Dictator Marcos’s administration. Presently, this is the official signature color of our present administration here in the Philippines.
