It has happened to me! It could happen to you!
We start out with a pair of socks and end up with one sock. How does it happen?

The other day I wrote a comment on a friends article and when I went back to look at the article my comment was not there.

So I wondered where it went? Did it disappear into the land of cyberspace.

Is it floating out there somewhere waiting to land on some poor unsuspecting soul?

Which brought me to thinking about socks.

Where do socks go?

We put them in the dryer as a pair… two socks and we often get back one.

Is that the price we pay for using the dryer?

There should be a warning attached to every dryer. “Each load will cost you one sock!”

Or do they float away into cyberspace with those comments that mysteriously disappear?

Maybe somewhere up in the clouds is a massive lost & found box full of one sided socks waiting to be claimed on our way up to heaven.

Or maybe we should start chipping our socks like we sometimes do dogs. That way if we lose one and it happens to land somewhere it can be located and returned to its rightful owner.

We should start making signs.

The dryer eats them! They really run on a combination of electircity and socks!

Nina…this was a great, light-hearted read…my socks usually disappear in the wash! If I can get them out of the washing machine they I am confident that I will be folding them when the load of laundry is dried…I voted that I like this one…you need a mesh laundry bag to hold all these small items together as they go through the washing, spin, rinse, spin, dry process…thanks and take care

Lol Nina. I solved this problem years ago by buying the same color and brand of socks. Although they do go missing I can always match up the “odd” ones lol. They do even out agin in time lol. Makes for a dull foot life wearing the same color but it works. Greta post and a very enjoyable read.

I’m glad you liked it Erin & Betty.
I would do the same sock thing but my daughter loves to wear miss-matched socks so I don’t mind anyway. It is a really good idea though.
