Define your happiness from where it comes from.

A common mistake that we repeatedly commit is considering happiness as a superficial kind of emotion acquired only through material things or other people. We succumb to the world’s view that if we get a luxury car, wear diamonds, travel the world, be famous, or have a celebrity as a partner then we’ll be happy.

Happiness is from within

Happiness comes from the inner self. It is not supplied by anything or anyone. It is a reflection or a reaction based on what you feel. Where our happiness comes from is not dictated by anything or anyone.

Happiness is deciding to be happy

You need to decide on it. Will you be happy in spite of the problems in your life? You should be because by remaining happy in your letdowns it can help you overcome your troubles.

Happiness is contentment

Be contented with what you have and don’t have. Accept the fact that you can never be entitled with everything in this world. Contentment is not just being stuck into something. It is appreciating your life, whatever it is consist of. However, if you think you need a change, then go for it and follow the next tip.

Happiness is perseverance

If you really want something, then strive to get it. You may be single, but it doesn’t mean you will be miserably alone. You may have lost your job, but it’s not the end of the world. Instead, consider it as a new beginning for a new life. You may be broke, but your life will change for the better if only you will persevere in finding the right job for you.

Happiness is real

Do not believe that happiness only happens in fairytales. It can happen to you. By following the tips above, you will truly be happy in life. Cherish your life, your relationships, your achievements, your failures and shortcomings. Learn from everything, and you’ll be happy for the rest of your life.

this reminds me of a story of an old man who was about to enter an old-folks’ home. He was about to be ushered to his room by an attendant. The attendant said “the room is right at the end” and the old man replied: “oh, it’s beautiful. I love it”. the attendant gave a quizzical look and said: “how can you say you like it when you haven’t even see the room yet?”…the old man replied with a smile -”That is not a problem. I myself decide on what I like regardless of however things are. It’s all up here” he said pointing to his head….

Sorry for the long commentary ^^;;;; Thanks for the article. it’s a real motivator.
