The day will always live in our memory, for those who helped it will be a time that we came together as a nation to help, to find survivors. It showed the world that Americans come together in difficult times, and we will rebuild!
Yes that horrific day, and many want to lay blame, but if you were one of the ones, who survived, be thankful since next time we may not be so lucky.
Lets look at our civilians for the most part we mind our own business, and never think to help others; society had become a selfish society. On 9/11 that changed everything for a couple of weeks, but lets talk about that day.
As soon as the first plane hit, and people realized that there was danger they jumped into action, by the time the second plane hit and the pentagon had been struck; everyone forgot what they were suppose to do. The had only one thing on their mind, to help each other get as far from this disaster as possible. As they headed down stairwell, fear dwelling in the pit of their stomach, each and everyone tried to assist each other; some made it, many did not. The stories of how they supported each other and aided the less fortunate were overwhelming, the young helping the elderly, others helping pregnant woman, if you were struggling someone tried to help.
People from all over came to the scenes to assist, some to New York, while others to the Pentagon. Water was donated, along with food to feed the thirty and hungry. Others jumped right in, sorting through the rumble, listening to screams and cries for help, these brave Americans forgot about their own lives and set out to help others.
People as far as California, Wyoming, and Texas made there way to New York, which was not easy task since ALL planes had been grounded. These compassionate human beings arrived safely and ready to do whatever needed to be done. They arrived at the perfect time; since those who had been there from the beginning, on September 11, 2001 were beginning to tire and were suffering from exhaustion. They needed rest and time to let what had happen settle in.
Americans all over suffered, we were attacked right here on our own soil, the places attacked had been visited by thousands of us, either we worked there at one time, shopped or we just visited, and now it was gone. We suffered the attack and now we must show the world that Americans are strong and we will rebuild and thus we will move on.
George W. Bush, did his job as President; he has kept us safe from other terrorist attacks, and he along with other countries have been able to find, and destroy plans for future attacks. The war is not over, it has only began, even eight years later; but together as Americans if we see or hear something, we need to report it. If we know something, tell the proper authorities, no matter how silly or foolish it may seem at the time.
There were many signs in the past years that September 11, 2001 was going to come, but it seems it was never taken seriously.
