About the rains in chennai.

Its pouring cats and dogs in Chennai, India. Chennai being in South part of India, gets rains twice every year, once during july and the next by october.

A few years before, the then Chief Minister, introduced the “Rain Water Harvesting” system. It was almost forced into every office and every home. This was supposed to help improve the water table in the drought prone state capital.

One thing they always forgot was the amount of water which gets wasted on the roads, which never get into the Harvesting scheme.

This year, everyone completely forgot about the harvesting, and all the holes are literally blocked. Now when the whole city never thought would rain, is shocked to see continuous rains all around the day.

The roads are full of water, all the subways are submerged and the houses are almost on the brim.

No news from the government except to declare holidays to schools and colleges. But we are really electing the same people over and over again. Almost even when people feel they don’t need to see that guy back in power, we are left with least option but to elect the same person.

Are we really running a democracy?
