When a person is happy to be a beggar.

Many say India is a poor country. I agree to some extent that we have many poor people in India. Of which many are beggars. Many times I see kids begging for money, who tell them to beg? Who is the person who finally makes the kid happy by giving him money. It’s we who make them beg, it’s because of us who give them money and exploit their habits. They always keep on thinking that there is no need to earn when you get what you want for free.

This begging thing prevails in all the countries, it’s not just India but through out the world and all the people have the same kind of thinking that they are doing their best part by giving money to beggars. I really don’t agree with this idea of using poor people as a tool to get some blessings and exploiting them. Instead I wish I could make everyone in this world understand what I want. As I am an Indian and proud to be one. I am giving examples of Indian beggars.

A person who is physically and mentally healthy, why is he or she is supposed to beg? It’s because of we people who feel that, if we give them money then they will bless us and we will be relieved of our part of doing some thing good.

But don’t you think that the good that you are doing is exploiting them to continue doing the same and become beggars.

I have also heard a story long time back of a person who use to beg sitting in a car. His argument of begging in a car was that this is his primary business. Is begging really a business? People who are not studied, can also work, do some kind of job and earn their living.

Why our country becoming a prey to this begging business. I would always prefer feeding an old person who is begging instead of giving  him money, so that he is not using that money in buying alcohol and getting him in a worse situation. If a kid is begging I would love to help him or her to get admission in some school and pay fees for the same. This way I would like to do my part of good and not just throwing money so that the person feels good for a minute.

first of all, may i welcome you back. it\’s a real genuine pleasure to read your work after a long time. this article on beggars in our country India, is an eye-opener and i completely agree with you 100%. if they are not encouraged to beg then they won\’t do it. it is a very common practise all over the world. i think alot has to do with overpopulation too and not necessarily that the country is poor, our country, India, is now a nuclear power country and yet, corruption and poverty is everywhere. we accomodate for everyone. this is a lovely article and i enjoyed it all. thanks for creating and sharing.

Excellent piece. You are right, begging occurs in all parts of the world. Where I live I see it all the time.
