I wonder who decided why everything means what it does, why a tree is called a tree instead of a door or a light bulb.
Who made it a law that everything is something specific? Who said that a tree is a tree or a duck is a duck or fire is fire. Why did everything end up with the name it has now and how long did everything take to get the name it has now. I remember naming my dog and I can honestly say that for the first two weeks he didn’t have a name…well I take that back I changed his name about everyday then finally one stuck. It seems if you don’t know what something is you can usually find out by asking somebody, but what if lets just play pretend, what if something fell out of the sky or was found somewhere random. What if nobody knew what it was? What if nobody in the entire world has ever seen anything like it, never heard of anything like it, or had any idea what made it, or even what it does or does not do. Who would be in charge of naming it? How would they name it? How much time and money would be spent trying to figure out what this strange thing is or what it does? Anybody have any ideas?
