                                           Why Can’t They Ring Back?

Is it just me I wonder, but whenever I ring any sort of company for some help, they always say they will look into it, and ring me back, but they never do.

We needed  an electrician recently, so out came the local directory, and I chose the one  who was advertising in a big box with bold writing. He was safe reliable, qualified, and available 24/7. So I rang him up, full of eager expectation. The call was answered by his son, who explained his  dad was in the bath, and would ring me back within the hour. Well he didn’t, so I have to conclude he must have drowned in it.

Bu he wasn’t the only one to do this. I called my car insurance company on Monday, and after waiting patiently on the line listening to ” soothing music,” I then had to choose from so many options, and felt so triumphant when I finally spoke to a human being.  I thought my query was straightforward, he only had to look at my file on the computer, but guess what, the computer was down, but it wouldn’t be for long, and he would ring me back before the day was out.

Well it is now Thursday, and I’m still waiting, so this afternoon I took the bull by the horns and rang again, trying to contain my impatience when I had to go through the whole procedure again. This time I got another man, who knew nothing about it, so I had to explain it all again, and apparently the computer is working OK now. Not that this made any difference, as he said he would ring me back, and I’m still waiting.

I give up!
