The most common and oft-repeated refrain is, why do bad things happen only to good people ?  Why indeed.  If there is a God above who watches over us, why do we suffer physically, mentally and emotionally in spite of being genuinely good, caring, selfless and forgiving ?  When we look around us, we see two distinct classes of people, the ones who enjoy every kind of material benefit and the ones who really toiling at the gristmill incessantly without any real rewards to show for it.  One often wonders why the corrupt, the mean and the downright sleaze and dregs of the world actually live it up really high while the honest and good people struggle day in and day out to eke out a living, suffering mental trauma, untold physical stress and emotional chaos.  Does God really allow this to happen or is He watching this with a perverse sense of amusement.

Well folks, the fact is, the corrupt, the cheaters, and the manipulators, in a nutshell, the bad people, prosper because they’ve lost their souls.  It is the the Devil who promises people money, material and all the good things in life; the things that take people’s souls away from God.  Also remember, only the weak are corrupt and easily swayed by these illusions.  God only promises us an everlasting life and unending rewards in the form of wisdom and the chance to be in the Kingdom of God.  In fact, all religions shun money and material as illusions, illusions that distract man from his true path.  The bad things that happen in our lives happen for a very good reason.  They happen to distract us from the path the Devil has laid out.  They happen so we can learn that the path to the truth and righteousness is never easy.  Hidden inside every problem that we face is a priceless piece of wisdom; we must learn to extract this from every problem or bad thing that happens to us.  And, don’t forget that the bad things that happen to good people is also the Devil’s orchestrations, not God’s.  God has just laid out a simple path for us to follow.  Since we do not stray and are not tempted, the Devil tries his best to create situations for us where our spirits would break and our souls would weaken, thus making us open to doubt, confusion and loss of faith.  Keep you faith, no matter what, keep trudging on in spite of all the hardships and bad things happening in your life.  Remember, if your spirit breaks, then your faith wavers, and that leaves the door wide open for the Devil to get at your soul.  Yes, your soul, the only thing that connects you to God.  And also remember, God never calls the equipped, He equips the called, and the called are the ones who suffer the most, the ones who keep the faith in spite of all the hardship and bludgeoning by the Devil.
